I am writing an application that parses powerpoint files, grabbing things like pictures, movies, sounds, etc. as well textual content. The only way that I have found to extract the pictures is to use the default powerpoint export to html functionality and then parse the xml files and grab the pictures.

It appears that the only way to embed movies and sounds in a ppt is through doing a Paste Special or dragging them from the explorer into powerpoint. The problem here is that when I export these, the file type is MSO, which I believe is some sort of OLE wrapper around the media items.

Has anyone had any experience working with or parsing these files?
