Based on your experience with FoxPro do you believe our DB would run faster on a Dual processor 2.0+ ghz or faster machine with 4-5GB of ram or a Quad processor 700-800mhz with the same Ram. I haven't seen a good analysis on the benefits of dual vs quad with FoxPro and was wondering if you had seen any real experiences that might lead me in the right direction. Thanks

From what I have seen, the processor used by VFP doesn't matter as much as the bandwidth to the data. If they are using a large dataset, Raid 5 with 5 drives would be my option. I've used Raid 3 with 2 drives to see a 6 hour process turn to 3. I'm sure it could be reduced more with hardware.
