Robert,
I've read the rest of the answers and I want to temper what CraigB has said.
Dual processors, at least combined with good SCSI hard drives, **CAN** be VERY BENEFICIAL to VFP processing!!! Have a read of this:
A tip on hardware to speed up VFP Thread #

472486. Be sure to read the whole thread (it is not that long).
In the case cited it was a specific VFP application with large record volumes and heavy processing requirements, so it was not a "server" per-se.
I think I saw Terminal Server mentioned in another message in this thread. While I have absolutely NO EXPERIENCE with that, I imagine that a "server" that is dualed would have some positive impact on that.
good luck

Based on your experience with FoxPro do you believe our DB would run faster on a Dual processor 2.0+ ghz or faster machine with 4-5GB of ram or a Quad processor 700-800mhz with the same Ram. I haven't seen a good analysis on the benefits of dual vs quad with FoxPro and was wondering if you had seen any real experiences that might lead me in the right direction. Thanks
