As already mentioned in two replies so far, a grid itself is just a place holder. At first, if you really want to have a default order, you can either bind the grid to a cursor in the proper order, bind the grid to a view properly ordered or to bind the grid to an alias, for example, with the tag you want. While the grid has started, by any mechanism you want, you can proceed by adjusting the proper order and refresh the grid. Such mechanism could be to have a listbox in a toolbar or elsewhere with a set of pre-defined order the user can select, clicking on a grid header to fire some kind of event, etc.
