I agree, it is a local app - this is what I meant by "fat-client". However, what ActiveDoc can do easily, and EXE is not that straight-forward is that you can place ActiveDoc on a web server, and invoke it via HTTP request. You would get auto versioning, auto download, etc...(you are right - it is evantually executed on a client). However, the VFP run-time should be locally available too. Also, because this is not a firewall friendly not thin client solution and can run only on Windows - we use web portal technology for all our VFP apps. This makes VFP egine to run on server only, while producing html portal output to HTTP stream, thus crossing firewall boundaries and OS on the client.
