1) Garbage Collector
2) Self-Describing= The DLL or Exe can have declarative security and really the .NET have a more capable security framework (including crypto, role security and thing like thats)
3) Secure Web: The ASP.NET is installed in a limited machine account. Also the system perform well in a web server. With Vfp you can crash (more easy) the web system...
4) In the ERP frontend that i develop now, the part wit more stability troubles is the VFP COM server (no the best use for VFP, and worst with ADO...)
5) More capable Error system: Becuase try..finally is not part of VFP (except for 8) a reliable error system is not always possible now...I hope that with 8, the people use this!
6) The VFP database is null secure....
7) The vfp database is pseudo stable...The worst of all. None of the important system in my city (the system than i know) is developed with VFP backend. VFP win a very bad reputation, and no mater if is possible or not use in a good way a VFP DB...If not use Sql Server, Oracle or other we are out of the bussines. Point. If MS develop a stable VFP DB, how can shell Sql Server & acces???

At least for server side, .NET is more suitable for the near future...if MS not break it!
