Hey Ken,

You're welcome. Thank you for sharing your experience with L&L already. I know prior to version 8, L&L did not have any VFP examples and it was very difficult to figure out how to make it integrate with VFP. Looks like their marketing staff realized there is more development markets out there than just VB and now have examples and source for VFP and several other development platforms. I'm looking forward to seeing what their new version 9 has to offer.

BTW, I understand they have a Crystal conversion program that will convert Crystal reports into L&L. Not sure how well it converts, but sounds interesting. I also especially like all of the export options, PDF being among them. Distribution is also much, much easier than Crystal reports.

Thanks again for sharing your experience with L&L. I'm looking forward to getting to that phase of my development on this new project I'm working on.

Happy holidays!

James

>Thank you James Moore for mentioning L & L. We did not know about it.

>We downloaded the 30 day trial version and had it running with almost no effort at all. We were able to integrate it with our software with the included VFP sample code. We did almost no original work at all. It works directly with the VFP files.

>We believe the user interface is much simpler for end-users (non-programmers) than Crystal or other reporters we have tried. The price is a little more than we wanted to pay, but there are no royalties for distributing the designer, etc. So far, this is the best deal we have seen.

>>Hey Paul,

>>I haven't had much experience with L&L yet. I plan on incorporating it in my next major upgrade of my vertical market application. I may also look into the .NET components of L&L and see how well it will integrate into .NET applications. I was especially interested in this report writer because it was one of the few that would allow you to distribute the designer royalty free.

>>I'll keep you posted once my development gets to L&L.
