Hi!

They're really updated in the registry. Windows just does not look into the registry for changes in these values till computer restart.

The Windows reads this registry values only once - when starting. When you change registry, this makes no effect on the programs already loaded and running in memory.

You require to fond some way to force Windows re-read these values from registry. If this is possible, look into the Platform SDK documentation in MSDN to search for appropriate Windows API function.

>i have the code to deactivate the windows key on the keyboard and the context menu (right click on the taskbar) from the registry. but the values of these two keys are not updated automatically. they take effect when i restart the computer. somebody told me on the thread that these values are read once at the starting of windows.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
