>Ed Rauh, passed away sometime Saturday morning. His body was found by a friend and co-worker. Ed had suffered for a very long time with major illnesses but still kept himself active and involved in the VFP world. He was a person who would go the end of the earth for you, but would also let you know in a heart beat if you were off the mark. Ed will be dearly missed.

I've had a bad feeling this morning when I saw a message with just "Re: Ed Rauh" in the mail ... and it turned out to be just what I feared.

It's incredible that he, despite whatever illnesses he had, still worked that much and that deep. Just look at his messages in the recent weeks here - they are equally thorough, the explanations equally long and elaborate and to the point, as they were years ago.

He was one of the people I really planned to meet sooner or later; virtual simply didn't seem enough. Sadly, this will never happen, and we'll never drink that beer we scheduled.
