Thanks for the SCOPE_IDENTITY() suggestion. I inherited some code and didn't look into it deeply. I'll check out the function.
I put a request on a Sybase newsgroup and I'll keep checking for replys. Sybase, as community, doesn't seem to be as active as MS SQL Server and VFP.

>is IDENT_CURRENT() what you really want? It returns the last IDENTITY value inserted into the table, regardless of the connection that inserted the row! IMO, you probably want to use SCOPE_IDENTITY().
