Like many of the people here on the UT, I never met Ed personally, though I respected him greatly.

There are so many wonderful people here, who give so freely and so often, that I've never met. Ed's death is a wake-up call to me that this is unacceptable. Who knows when it might happen again.

I will have to try to find a way to get to one or two of the conferences next year.

I hope I can, and that I can meet at least some of those who have helped me so much over time. I don't want to find myself in the position again of mourning so deeply the death of someone I've never had a chance to know.
