Tableupdate() might not be operating on correct table/cursor. Do you include alias parameter.

I originally had the TABLEUPDATE() command with parameters and commented the statement out and added just TABLEUPDATE(), out of desperation.

The TABLEUPDATE() command with parameters was getting errors with pessimistic buffering.

With Optimistic buffering and the TABLEUPDATE() command with parameters, the table remained updated.
