As far as VB.NET (and C#.NET) is concernced, the term "over-engineered" comes to mind ... at the same time, they don't even have a "masked" TextBox control ... you have to roll your own (unlike VFP).

If you want to count "classes" (and their members), then yes, .NET outnumbers VFP ... but VFP is a lot more "elegant" in its object-orientation (IMO).

It's now a lot easier to write incomprehensible code in VB (via .NET) vs VFP while trying to accomplish the same thing.

And even though MS claims you'll be "writing a lot less code" with .NET ... it will still be more than VFP when it comes to data management.

.NET does have a nice DataGrid though; better than VFP ... which was already pretty good.

However, I still think Delphi does "it" better than either VB.NET or C#.
