Hi John,

At the moment I use the ImageMan controls from Data-Tech. They do what's expected of them for a reasonable price. Works perfectly with XP and TWAIN (so far).

As I now have a requirement for OCR I'm evaluating the SimpleOCR ActiveX control which is royalty-free (the ONLY royalty-free OCR engine, as I understand it).

Regards,

Liam

>As most of you are aware M$ has decided to remove Kodak Imaging OCX’s from XP. This of course has caused trouble for those who used Kodak to access scanners and cameras via twain. I have discovered that it might be possible to load the old Kodak files from a NT machine. However, I’m guessing that transferring files is a violation of license. So what is everyone doing to access twain from VFP on a XP machine? I did discover a DLL from “eztwain”. It’s free and with a little testing I have discovered that it works. But before I spend a lot of time creating “declare statements” (it was designed for C++) I was hoping someone knew a better way.
