Larry,

You will need to use low-level File I/O to access the EXIF information in the image files. Also, that depends on if the EXIF information was kept with the file after they were modified. A lot of older Image Editing software would simply throw away the EXIF information from a file.

I don't have a link at the moment to give you the TAG layout for the EXIF information.
