It's not possible (at least I haven't found a way) to use the native MainMenu component and be able to undock the menubar or individual menus. What you are talking about is usually called "tear off menus" or "fly off menus". The Magic library doesn't do that but the Infragistics library does.
You might be able to get something going by using the Office type libraries but then you would be requiring your end users to have Office installed and you would also be using COM Interop which would give you a performance hit.
