This really doesn't have to do with your comment, but it did make me remember something. I needed to be able to uncopyprotect DVDs so that I could watch DVD's on all the TVs at my house on a certain channel number. A video copy master at Best Buy for $50 did the trick. I went from DVD to Copy Master to VCR, then the coax from the VCR split all over the house and I put those TVs on channel 3.

So I'm thinking you could go from DVD to Copy Master to something by Dazzle and make a MPG or AVI of a DVD snippet as well.
