Dear Leland,

I think that is a good idea for pulling cryptoapi out of any projects until micorsoft works this problem out :). Moreover the main problem in security systems - people. Sometimes it impossible to keep they password enough complexity and persuade to keep it secretly. Another people's problem - some IT specialists has mental problems and hate the whole World, we cannot stop them :(.
