No, and not all of the holiday's listed below are government holidays either. The observed government holidays (for govt employees, but not all workers of course in the U.S-it depends on the business requirements) are:
Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003 New Year's Day
Monday, Jan. 20 Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
Monday, Feb. 17 Washington’s Birthday
Monday, May 26 Memorial Day
Friday, July 4 Independence Day
Monday, Sept. 1 Labor Day
Monday, Oct. 13 Columbus Day
Tuesday, Nov. 11 Veterans Day
Thursday, Nov. 27 Thanksgiving Day
Thursday, Dec. 25 Christmas Day
Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 New Year's Day
For instance, the company I work for only observes:
new years day
president's day
memorial day
independence day
labor day
thanksgiving
christmas
However, we get good friday off in lieu of martin luther king's birthday. Go figure.
