Jim,

Here is an email I sent to the Crystal Decisions tech who is assisting me with this issue...

Jacky,

After further investigation and some support from other Universal Thread members having the same problem, it seems there is an issue with Crystal 9 enumerating a large number of stored procedures in the Visual FoxPro database. My database has hundreds of stored procedures that must be enumerated into the list of available data sources in the Database Expert dialog. For some reason this process is causing Crystal 9 to crash during the creating of data sources.

If I create a database with only two tables and a small number of stored procedures, the connection is created successfully using the fully qualified path to VFP database.

The problem can be recreated on demand. What is the best way to help your team reproduce this problem and determine if it is a bug in the vfpoledb driver or in Crystal 9?

Please advise.
Jeff

P.S. By the way, with my smaller database, I was able to determine that ANSI 92 syntax is produced. See attached.

And also, I now see how the new capability to invoke stored procedures would require a new GUI to build the data environment.
