Evan;

Due to a serious car accident I needed medical attention. In fact the doctor said, “You are going to die”! After recovering well enough to discharge myself from U.C. Davis Medical Center’s Trauma Center, I collected my family and began a long period of recovery. I feel that if I stayed in the Trauma Center I would have died due to the things they did to me. Eighteen hours I will never forget and $1000 an hour.

Some people said, “Go to a Chiropractor – they are wonderful”! I picked up a magazine and read an article about how many people die in the Chiropractors office each year in the United States, due to the violent action they take to “help you”. Since I had a ruptured cervical vertebrae (C5) with paralysis of both thumbs, index and middle fingers, along with pain radiating I cannot describe, the last thing I wanted to consider was a Chiropractor! My right shoulder and collarbone were dislocated and would dislocate if I tried to place my arm overhead or put any pressure on my right arm like trying to rise out of a chair and assist myself by pushing my body upwards with my arms.

An Orthopedic Surgeon examined me and he suggested Physical Therapy. He told me if he operated there was a 50 % chance of success, and did not suggest surgery without trying Physical Therapy first. With those odds I thought I should try something else first. I ended up going to a Sports Physical Therapist, and from there Water Therapy, swimming in a heated pool under the guidance of a trained Physical Therapist. Additionally, I increased my range of motion of the right arm through the use of weights, which is something I did on my own. Now I am attempting to gain back the strength I once had.

Personally I think that any violent action taken against the human body is to be avoided. If you are in pain the body is telling you there is a problem and you must listen and act accordingly. A Chiropractor’s actions are violent and your body has no time to react to tell you there is a problem.

Chiropractors in Silicon Valley also have other activities they engage in such as “special diets”, which have exotic names.

Believe it or not 10 years ago I was in our favorite coffee shop in Campbell, California, and had just received YAG’s FoxPro 2.0 Codebook, and floppy disk! I was with my wife and reading my new book. A fellow came up to our table and introduced himself and gave me his business card. He said he was also interested in FoxPro and he was a Chiropractor! I remember his name and wonder how he is doing?

>>>>Have you thought of a Chiropractor? I know... most people don't believe in them, but for what you are experiencing, it sounds like it might help.
>>>
>>>I've been to a chiropractor 3 times for a sore neck. Worked great. I am much more hestiant to go now for two reasons:
>>>1) I saw a story on 60 minutes about chiropracty. It is a flakey science! Cracking bones to treat the flu? Tons of other flakey things such as that "activator" thingy.
>>>2) Our secretary at work got her neck cracked at a session and she ended up getting a torn coratted (sp?) artery, when clotted and she had a stroke.

>>A good physical therapist would be better than a chiropractor. I went to one several years ago for neck problems and the treatment was wonderful and most helpful.

>With Canadian healthcare I have to pay a fee (maybe $20 per visit) to a chiropractor, but with a physical therapist, if my GP refers me it is free. A much shorter walk too.
