The workaround to this problem is a little more complex and involves using Print When
logic and Report Variables, which I haven’t discussed yet. However, I think this gotcha is
important enough to warrant being mentioned here, so without getting into too much detail,
here’s the gist of what you have to do.
1. Create a Report Variable that counts the number of lines per page (nLines).
2. Copy all the objects from the Page Header band to the top of the Summary band.
3. Copy all the objects from the Page Detail band to the bottom of the Summary band.
4. Change the Print When of the new header and footer objects in the Summary band to
only print when nLines = 0 and to remove the object when it’s blank.

>I'm not sure which section of the book you are referring to .. but .. the "Remove line if blank" option is not enabled in the Summary band. It is, however, enabled in the Group Footer band. It's possible that you're referring to a tip in the book that explains how to do this in the "Group Footer" .. not the "Summary" band.
