Sorry, if this is irrelevant, but is it kind of InputBox with a timeout? There is InputBox in Download section here by Rick Borup (could be enhanced to use a timer) and by Mike Helland (didn't try this one).

What VFP version you're using? VFP7 has InputBox function.

If these suggestions would not work, you can probably use SendKeys approach...
