aaaarrrrhhhHHHHH!!!!

ok I tried what both of you guys suggested...I still get the same problem.

What is even more strange is if I setup the 3 parameters with values that make it fail...the view does indeed fail and I get the error...BUT if I run the Select statement by itself (not in a view) with the same parameter values it works!!!
I've spent all day on this ooooone teenee weeene view I think I'm just going to give up and change my code around and hard-code the Select statement in the report...just doesnt make any sense that it doesn't work as a view (sometimes)..grrrrrrr. I'm quite frustrated I mean this is like a pretty simple view to begin with.
