I know you were deeply affected, George, and your humility isn't a put-on. I was tempted to send you a condolence, but I was afraid you'd think I was insincere. Ed left us a valuable legacy that will be long remembered. We didn't see eye to eye on everything, but I had tremendous respect for him.

I'll never forget the first time you helped me. A bunch of other very prominent guys were shooting from the hip and just didn't seem to get what I was driving at. Only you stuck with it until I was satisfied, and it wasn't a trivial problem. Thanks, for that too.
