hi christof -
thanks for your reply. up to now, i've used activeX controls from a
limited number of vendors (Mabry and Crescent) and they worked ok.
for the most part, i've used microsoft controls, which ought to behave,
eh ?
again, i'm amazed at your detailed understanding of the internal
mechanics of vfp. i've never looked at one of these vfp hacker
trick books ... do they discuss this sort of thing ?
do you think microsoft would ever publish a document explaining
things such as this ? i mean, i've seen threads here, where some
very knowledgeble people spend significant time conjecturing about
why this and why that. what could be more useful than to get
the straight factual details that would make a developer'd life
easier. i'd compare it to an auto mechanic getting the factory
service manual so he knows exactly how things operate and how to
deal with them. doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult
for microsoft to generate such a document, and i'm sure the vfp
community would pay a fair price for it. i gather from your
previous comments that you yourself, for example, have spent
considerable time rooting out, deducing, and infering details
of the internal mechanics of vfp.
well, enough rambling. thanks again for the reply and comments.

>yes, that typical. VFP doesn't reliable work with many ActiveX controls on modal forms. This has to do with how VFP processes Windows messages on modal forms.
