If you want to stay with MAPI, you can download Express Click Yes, which is free.

Alternatively, if you are running Windows 2000 or later and have access to an SMTP server either locally or on the net, you can go for a solution with CDO for Windows 2000 which bypasses the security patch issue entirely.
