I am installing a new Client/Server network. The server is a brand new Dell and I am using Win2k Server. Most client machines are using Win2K (a few are Win98). When I first set up the network and Active Directory, users would boot-up and logon very fast. Now, it seems, after installing Office 2K on the client machines.....the boot-up and logon process takes up to 5 min. I have the network down to only the server and 1 client machine, both of which are plugged directly into the 24p switch, and yes, I have tried this with another client machine, with the same results. (I am going to try and remove office to see if the problem goes away). If I boot the machines stand-alone, everything seems fine (speed of boot-up and logon to the computer) Any other suggestions????
