thanks for the reply.
yes, i had concluded that same reasoning. that's why in my experiment
i put two levels (frm_Caller_1 & frm_Caller_2) in between my main form
and the non-modal pair, FORM_A and FORM_B. it makes sense that the
form that directly calls (one or more) non-modal forms has to be
non-modal itself .... but i was hoping i was wrong that ALL forms earlier
in the calling sequence had to be non-modal.
i guess i couldn't rationalize the indicated conclusion that a modal
form anywhere in the sequence (even 2 or 3 levels removed) would
prevent my "leaf node" forms from behaving non-modally.
