Hi John,
Try entering the user name in the samba password file. This can be done using SWAT.
Select the password tab, then enter the relevent info into into the top portion of
the form. After setting up the user, be sure an select [enable].
What did you select for security, share, user, server, domain, or some mix of the above.
You can check this by using the following command and then looking at the output
file created.
testparm -L yourhostname > output
vi output
The one and only original security setting was share. It is the most lax. You might
try setting the security to share.
