I was assuming that you guys were custom application developers like I am.

But I just checked out your company's website and realized that you guys have a "shrink-wrapped" application you are offering a specific industry. In the case where you are offering a "pre-made" application you are perfectly free to hold the data anyway you please. And IMHO you have no obligation to warn your customers about any data limitations (beyond your initial requirements/capacity) claims.
