Hi All,

I use the DTS manager to import data from one server to another. My problem is related to fields that are of type varchar(8000).

1) If the field in the table "does not accept nulls" and the default for the field is " " (a space) I get import errors saying the fields does not accept nulls.

2) If the field in the table "does accept nulls" and the default for the field is " " (a space) the import is successful except the data in the records is . It completely left out the data for this field.

Any ideas? Should I lower the varchar to 7999 characters, or???? Will this make a difference?
