I encountered something strange yesterday and it seems even more strange after I have sleept on it.

I tried running the folowing code:
use c:\TheTable excl
copy to c:\TheTableBkp prod

This gave an error saying that the table was in use. There is no table called TheTableBkp.

It seems like VFP only recognizes the first eight letters of a filename.

I am running W2K and VFP7.0

I can reproduce the error but not all the time and I have not found the common factors that cause this.

Has anybody seen anything like this?
Is there a setting in Tool-Options?
