There is nothing that requires the VFP team to have the final VFP8 shipping by the end of the month. I can tell you that VFP will not be available from your reseller by Jan. 31. It has not RTMed yet. General availability is 6-8 weeks after RTM. If you absolutely must have VFP 8 sooner, then you should get an MSDN subscription. You'll be able to download VFP8 shortly after RTM and won't have to wait for media production.
