>Interesting, I've been told that only the Olympus ones are supported mounted disk drives.

Not only mine is another drive letter, but I'm pretty sure other models are too. It might be that mine had to have the software loaded to do that, but I didn't think so. I can test that if you like, but right off hand I don't even know where my camera's cable is.

>I just came back again from Future Shop. They showed me another model. Kodak as one that records sound when doing movies and is a compact version. However, it doesn't support mounted disk drive. That's what I am looking for. I don't want to have to install any software on the PC to download the images and movies.

If you use an external memory reader, you don't need to load software and you have access like a mounted disk drive. However, the first time you plug it into a PC, it will automatically load the driver that's built into windows. I don't see you getting around that.

>Your camera has a depth of 4 inches, which is huge. The Olympus compact model has it at 1.4 inches. However, I found the D-5050 one much bigger as it is 2.7 inches. That's why I am hesitating to purchase it because of that dimension. Going at 4 inches dept is really too much for me. :)

I'm so used to my 35mm equipment, my camera seems small.

>It seems that whenever there is sound supported, in most cameras, it is part of a model that has a bigger lense which makes the dimension of the camera to increase.

I suspect you're right. Not only do you add a microphone, but a speaker too.

>You did however mentioned me that we can have a 256mb. I'll have to check if Olympus support that one.

Not sure if Smart Media gets any bigger than 128. If you get a model that uses compact flash, I think you can even get the IBM micro drives that hold 1 GB.

Comapct flash is really nice for when you have to pull cards in and out. If you go the external reader route, that's nice. It's also very fast to do when the camera uses CF cards. If your willing to switch cards, it's like putting in a new roll of film and your capacity is unlimited. Most (if not all) CF cards are faster as well.
