It takes the listview that long to get rid of all of it's internal objects. You might want to see if the listview has a Clear() method to make it destruct faster.

Honestly though for 16,000 rows I think I'd use a native VFP grid instead.

I ran the applications and now the form releases but there is a delay in the release, depending on the number of records that were populated. With 1000 records, a couple of seconds and with 16000 records, about 17 seconds (unacceptable). With your suggestions above the results were the same. What's this delay?
