Actually, sounds like a smart move to do. If you tried to work with XSLT, you may know it's not a piece of cake. Having a functional language structured to do that woudl be far easier.

VFP is not functional to XML, but it is for data. The interesting thing here is that once they go functional with XML, they *could* go functional over data, and this is preety much what xBase is.

Then, it would just be a matter of intentionality on their part...
