You may recall my preivous post on this issue. I could not figure out where a default value was coming from. A field was getting automatically populated and I couldnt find the code responsible.

Well I still havent found it exactly but im much closer I think.
When I open the registry editor there are 2 folders (shared keys & local keys)

Under shared keys / counters there is nothing at all.

HOWVER, if I run the form in question add a new record, then open the registry editor, I have an extra item.
I have shared keys, local keys and ECNC_appreg01 (ecnc is my application name)
Now under ecnc_appreg01, I have a new counters folder and under that is listed 'Primary key tcalibrate' and it contains the value of my field that is getting populated. FCKEY.

It was so hard to find because the counter doesnt exist until after the new record is created.

Now I know the source of the value, but I still dont know where the code is that populates the value. Any Ideas appreciated & thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
