>I have some code that must go into the message event of a particular form. As a side effect of doing this, the status bar comes on at the bottom of the main foxpro window. This is not the new status bar, but the old DOS gray backround/white text status bar. I can "set status off" in the message event to get rid of it, but then I get a flicker. Does anyone have a clue as to either how to stop this or how to make the background color of that bar white so that it is invisible?

The help text says, about the Message event, "Included for backward compatibility. Use the StatusBarText property instead." I haven't used the Message event recently, and the StatusBarText works fine. Why do you need the Message Event?

Perhaps you can SET STATUS OFF in the form Init(), instead of the Message() Event.

Hilmar.
