I basically agree here. Whether they make money directly from the certificacions or not, pressumably the very fact that they have a certification program increases the prestige of their products, helps people who use the products get support (without which the product might be less usable for many), etc.

At the same time, all this should also make the certification an interesting investment for those who pursue them.
