I'm very eager to try this too, I've been learning some vb.net over the past few weeks and I've watned something like this since I started messing with it.
The $699 price tag doesnt get me too much because I know they have a 30 day money back guarantee...but at the same time I kinda hate to tie up 700 bucks on something that I can't even see any screen shots of or eyeball a simple demo application made with it.
As far as them knocking the price down $200 and making up the difference by volume - that is a really good question - but since I don't know much of anything about marketing I wouldn't even know how to guess on that one...although that $500 threshold for many corporations is a pretty good point.

>Oakleaf has just released a beta of Mere Mortals .NET. VFP developers seem to be all over the fence on whether now is the time to delve into .NET or to wait for it to mature more so that it will be easier to work with and provide basic things we've grown to expect as VFP developers. While I'd like to give .NET and the MM .NET framework a try, I think the price of $699 for MM .NET is too high for many to justify a try and see approach. Also many corporations have a $500 limit on purchases before they require a second approval and justification which usually warrants a solid commitment. I think Oakleaf should try and see if they can bring the price down to $499 and maybe offer an "after 60-days support" option for the extra $200. I think they could sell more copies to make up the difference. Does anyone else agree?
