Hi all,

I am trying to convince a client to write an application in VFP instead of Access (yuk!). He, like many others who aren't programmers, think that VFP is way behind the others and fixing to fall off the face of the earth, even though he has had me write some VFP apps for him before.

Anyhow, his big thing is that this database be accessible and modifiable from the web. He is enamored with Data Access Pages in Access. Budgeting constraints limit my development options, so a client-server app with a mySQL backend is probably out of the scope of this project, so I would like to push a VFP database.

The problem is that the application will be for government, and has strict regulations over what kind of software can be purchased and utilized. They have VFP so that's not a problem, but purchasing and installing Web Connection is out of the question. Active FoxPro Pages are probably also a no-go.

Is there any other tools I can use to modify a VFP database on a web server using HTML pages? Would VFP web services and ASP do the trick(not ASP.NET)? Does VFP 8 have more web tools for us?

Thanks!
