Microsoft SQL Server
When you click All Tasks, Restore, the first box pops up with the first database. You can simply overwrite this name with the name of the database that you want restored. Then click on the From Device radio button and select the local restore file. After you are finished selecting the device, there is an Options tab. Make sure this is where you want your database and log files to be stored for this database on your machine.
You could essentially do this over and over again using a different database name if you wanted.
The restore file has all of the table structures, sps, etc. The database doesn't need to exist.
>So, you're saying that a database already exists when you do the restore?
