The code in question is running inside VMP, I think just after it interfaced to SDT <g>.

I didn't write the code, I've just been trying to find out why VMP has been slow to start. I do have the option within VMP of disabling this action. I believe the code is there at the start to trap any database errors prior to starting the application.
