AFAIK, it's not possible in IE though it may work in NN6, though, as someone says in the first link below, I'd like to know if you do find a way. (With Mozilla 5.0 (M14), the border style changes to the flat style, but the dropdown button remains 3D, Opera 5 makes a complete mess - a flat border appears around the 3D border, it seems these effects are very much browser dependant)
