I used Whil Hentzen Programming VFP 3.0 to get started and his latest version of that seems to be Fundamentals: Building a VS App using VFP. It can be found at: http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalogpricelists/fund6.htm .

It is written for VFP6, but most things will apply. I found his VFP 3 book to be great and I have to assume the vfp6 book is great too.
