I have just received a .BAK backup file of a SQL Server 6 database. I would like to either convert the whole thing to VFP tables or at least run some queries on it. I have also SQL Server 6 installed, and i saw a utility to export data , but since i don't know zitch on SQL Server, what should i rename my file to, and how can i open it/see the structure with SQL Server?

Jaime,

I believe you first need to restore the database to the server so that the database is actually online and visible within SQL Server. I don't remember if SQL6 came with the Enterprise Manager or not - it's an easy operation to do within that front end.

Laterness,
