Hi Geoffrey
>1. I see that by default, an underlying table will be opened exclusive, though that can be turned off. That does not seem appropriate.
The cursor is opened exclusively, not any connected backend table. This is what you want so you can manipultate it.
>2. Elsewhere, it states that a data source(table or view) can only be associated with one cursor at a time. Currently, a table can be opened in the same data environment a number of times with a different alias, or open in different forms. So just what does this restriction mean?
I don't think this means the way it sounds. I am able to open the same table twice, with different aliases, differnt CA instances. The problem I have is that the backend does not get updated properly when I use an alias that is different from the Table name. It may be the way I have set up the CA.

The miraculous will take a little longer.
