Oleksiy, if you dont want to open the table in the conventional way then the only other option is to use LLFF to write the data (even if empty) to the end of the file yourself. This would mean that you also update the file header and any index files - if they exist. Check the VFP help for the file structures of DBF & CDX files. At the end of the day I dont think that this way will be any faster than writing into the file directly via VFP.
