Title:
Ugrading to SQL2000 when customer on SQL7
My customer is using SQL Server 7 and I have been using an old version of MSDE that MS shipped to me on disk that included the Enterprise Manager. Actually, I'm not sure what it is, but it did say SQL Server 7 when I installed it. Anyway, it has been working out fine for a number of years for doing development work and logging on remotely to customer's server to do things.
For a long time, I have wanted to buy a legitimate version of SQL 2000, but was afraid I might be creating problems because customer is going to stay with SQL 7 for a while. Is it safe to upgrade to SQL 2000 when customer is SQL 7? Can you still buy SQL 7?
Thanx,
Charlie
